Acrylics are known for their luminosity, brilliance of color, and user-friendly potential for painters of all levels. Extremely easy to use, they feature flexibility and diversity in endless ways of creating expressive visual art. Whether you are fascinated by all the possibilities of great projects you would like to try, or are a seasoned artist with many acrylics projects you've mastered, this class is for you! Beginners and Intermediate welcome!

Lea Makinen

Instructor

Lea Makinen is a degreed and experienced art teacher and working professional artist who has worked extensively with public and private schools in bringing quality visual arts programs to children and adults. She has won awards for her story illustrations and watercolors. Some of her work includes cartooning, calligraphy, drawing, acrylics and watercolor painting. She is also proficient in puppetry construction, costume and set design as well as theater arts. Many of her students have gone on to pursue art as a career in animation and design. Her art has been displayed in numerous galleries across the Northland.
