This class is presented via an online webinar which can be viewed at anytime. An overview of a multifamily housing model started in Denmark and brought to the United States in the late 1980’s. Cohousing combines a collaborative and cooperative community of private residences with common spaces, activities, and governance (no shared income). Examples in the U.S. will be discussed. Resources will be recommended for attendees to use as follow-up.

Lee A Pedersen is a retired librarian from Brown University. She has lived in Duluth since 2014. Managing the care of her parents led to research into cohousing for her own future living. She offers an overview of what she has learned by studying the literature and participating in live and online conferences of The Cohousing Association of America.
