Driver Education - Duluth Public Schools

Both In-Person and Distance Learning Options

Registration begins at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11th on the Duluth Community Education website: www.duluthcommunityed.org

The Duluth Public Schools Driver Education Program will be offering in-person and distance learning classes this Winter/Spring semester. The distance learning classes will require Google Meet software and students must have an ISD 709 email account. The in-person class will meet at Duluth East. All classes will do behind the wheel lessons out of Denfeld or East High Schools.


Class #3713 - Online Class Using Google Meet

Dates: Dates: March 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 & 24

Time: 4:00pm to 6:30pm


Class #3714 - East High School, Room TBD

Dates: March 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31 and April 4, 5, 6, & 7

Time: 3:35pm to 6:05pm


Program Information: Students must be at least 15 years of age by the last scheduled classroom session. Program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. Class attendance is mandatory (if the student does not complete a full 30 hours of classroom they will not be able to take the permit test). Computer with camera, microphone, and ISD 709 email account is required for the online class only.


RegistrationOnline registration will begin on Tuesday, January 11th at 7:00 a.m. on the Duluth Community Education website: www.duluthcommunityed.org  

Classes usually fill up quickly, you should go to the website before the registration date to create a new account or check your current account.

When registering please use the student’s full legal name and include the student's date of birth.


Fees: The cost of the full program (classroom and behind the wheel) is $400 and must be paid when registering using Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
