This class is intended to help adult children that are facing the reality of caring for their aging parents. You may also learn tips for caring for an elderly neighbor or friend. We will look at area services, the home environment, clothing, diet, adaptive devices, and various adjustments to make home a safer, enriching, and more comfortable place to live as one ages. Instructor was an YWCA Adaptive Recreation employee for five years, has taught Pre-CNA skills to adult students, and cared for her own elderly parents in her home and theirs over a ten year period. This old lost tradition is starting to return, as families realize financial benefits, and benefits to their loved ones by home care vs. institutional care. Previous students are invited to come and join the class discussion.
