Intermediate Steel Drum

Learn a new instrument, the “pan,” in this entry-level steel drum band. This Caribbean ensemble is composed of multiple steel drum voices and has eleven spots total (not including drum set and electric bass if anyone is interested in joining us). We will meet at the College of St. Scholastica, Tower Hall, room 3625.

This band is designed for those that have either already taken the Beginning Steel Band (above) or have musical experience on other instruments and/or voice. You have also likely played in an ensemble before this, and have a basic ability to read music-one clef or the other. This band moves into more traditional Caribbean pop music realms: Calypso, Soca, Latin/Island, and Reggae.
