Are you curious about where the water goes when you flush? The Western Lake Superior Sanitary District collects and processes wastewater from residents and industries in a 530-square-mile region in St. Louis and Carlton counties. Participants will get a special behind-the-scenes facility tour to learn the science and see the biological processes used to clean water, create renewable energy, and protect public health and our environment. The tour is indoor/outdoor and moderately strenuous, including stairs and uneven surfaces.
